Theresa May is “hopeless”, “very indecisive” and leading a weak government, an influential Tory donor has said.
Lord Harris of Peckham, a former Conservative Party deputy treasurer, launched a withering attack on the prime minister in an interview with The Times.
He thinks that her government is mishandling Brexit and she has soured relations with business. The peer said she was hopeless during an election that the Tories “should have walked”.
“I tell you one thing, Theresa May is no Thatcher,” the carpet magnate, 74, said. “Thatcher used to make decisions. Not everyone liked her but you knew where you stood.”
